Researchers Publish Study on Integrated Clustering and Optimization in IoT Sensor Networks within Space–Air–Ground Frameworks Duhaa Fadill Abbas As part of its ongoing commitment to advancing high-quality scientific research, the College of Information Technology is proud to announce the publication of a research paper authored by Ph.D. student Asst. Lecturer Iman Dakhel Idan from the Department of Information Networks. The study was conducted under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Kadhim Mohammed, Head of the Cybersecurity Department at Al-Mustaqbal University. The paper, titled: “Integrated Clustering and Optimization for IoT Sensor Networks in Space–Air–Ground Frameworks: A Focus on Energy Savings,” was published in the prestigious International Journal of Communication Systems, ranked in the second quartile (Q2) globally and published by Wiley. The research addresses critical challenges in the integration of Space–Air–Ground Integrated Networks (SAGIN), emphasizing the need for efficient energy management strategies to ensure the sustainability and operational longevity of IoT sensor nodes. The proposed work introduces a dynamic cluster-head selection algorithm that aims to reduce overall energy consumption and improve network performance through advanced clustering mechanisms and intelligent optimization techniques. Moreover, the study highlights the pivotal role of clustering in organizing sensor nodes into effective communication groups, minimizing redundant transmissions, and enhancing data aggregation processes. By integrating these clustering techniques with smart optimization algorithms, the research provides a comprehensive framework for building energy-efficient and adaptable IoT sensor networks, tailored to meet the diverse requirements of dynamic SAGIN environments. This scientific achievement underscores the College of Information Technology’s distinguished reputation in the field of research and reflects its ongoing commitment to fostering innovation and excellence across various technological domains.
