Master s Student from the Department of Information Networks Presents a Cybersecurity Workshop at the College of Engineering

Yasmeen Ali Khalil, a Master s student in the Department of Information Networks at the College of Information Technology, conducted a workshop titled "Cybersecurity" at the College of Engineering, as part of the collaboration between the two colleges to raise awareness about the importance of information security and data protection in the digital age.
The workshop covered several key topics, including an introduction to cybersecurity and its goals in data protection, as well as highlighting the major cybersecurity risks that threaten individuals and organizations. It also discussed ways to maintain the security of personal devices and files, how to choose strong passwords, and the process of regaining control after a security breach.
Additionally, the workshop addressed types of cybersecurity threats, common user mistakes, and provided effective protection methods and guidelines for safeguarding data from cyberattacks.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity, enhance the scientific and practical skills of the students of the College of Information Technology in data protection, and equip participants with the knowledge needed to take effective preventive measures against cyber threats.
