Training Course on the Integrity of Publishing in Peer-Reviewed Academic Journals within the Second Sustainability Forum at the College of Information Technology

As part of the activities of the Second Sustainability Forum organized by the Information Networks Department at the College of Information Technology in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit a specialized scientific training course entitled The Integrity of Publishing in Peer-Reviewed Academic Journals was conducted and delivered by Dr Saba Mohammed and Dr Suad Abdul-Ilah within the framework of supporting the Sustainable Development Goals particularly the axis of New Education.

The course aimed to enhance academic awareness among researchers faculty members and postgraduate students regarding the concepts of scientific integrity and research and publication ethics while highlighting the approved criteria for selecting reputable academic journals in a manner that contributes to improving the quality of scientific output and meeting academic accreditation requirements.

The course addressed several important themes including mechanisms of publishing in peer-reviewed journals standards for evaluating scientific research methods for avoiding predatory journals as well as an overview of international publication requirements and proper citation practices and their role in strengthening the reputation of both the researcher and the academic institution at the local and international levels.

This course forms part of a series of scientific activities organized by the Information Networks Department reflecting the College’s commitment to supporting the path of sustainable development and enhancing the quality of education and scientific research
