It was established in 2009-2010 under the name of the College of Computer Technology, then its name was changed to the College of Information Technology in 2012, as a result of the development of scientific curricula. It is one of the advanced colleges in the university in terms of infrastructure and laboratories. The college grants a bachelor's degree (computer science) according to the departments mentioned above. The college follows the course system. Postgraduate studies (Master - PhD) in the software department.

University of Babylon Honors Participants in the International Day of Persons with Disabilities for Their Humanitarian Efforts Duhaa Fadill Abbas University of Babylon Honors Participants in International Day of Persons with Disabilities The University of Babylon honored a group of participants in the activities marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, in recognition of their outstanding efforts in supporting and advocating for the rights of individuals with special needs. As part of this recognition, a Certificate of Appreciation was awarded to Mohammed Rasul Allawi, a second-year student, for his active contribution to the event. The award was presented by Dr. Sura Zaki, Head of the Software Department, who emphasized the importance of academic community engagement in humanitarian causes and their role in supporting marginalized groups. This initiative aligns with the university s ongoing efforts to raise awareness about the significance of integrating persons with disabilities into society and ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment for them.
