It was established in 2009-2010 under the name of the College of Computer Technology, then its name was changed to the College of Information Technology in 2012, as a result of the development of scientific curricula. It is one of the advanced colleges in the university in terms of infrastructure and laboratories. The college grants a bachelor's degree (computer science) according to the departments mentioned above. The college follows the course system. Postgraduate studies (Master - PhD) in the software department.

The College of Information Technology Renovates Its Back Yard into a Volleyball Court to Enhance Sports Activities for Students Duhaa Fadill Abbas In a move aimed at promoting sports and recreational activities for students, the College of Information Technology has renovated its back yard into a volleyball court. Through the dedicated efforts of Administrative Assistant Dr. Amir Al-Haq Al-Shammari, the commitment of the staff in the Diwan Affairs Department, and direct support from the Dean, Professor Dr. Wesam Sameer Bhaya, the area has been equipped with the necessary facilities to create a suitable sports environment that fosters team spirit and offers students a space for recreation after study hours. This achievement comes as part of the college s ongoing efforts to enhance its infrastructure and provide an environment that serves the students, enhancing their academic and social experiences within the university campus.
