It was established in 2009-2010 under the name of the College of Computer Technology, then its name was changed to the College of Information Technology in 2012, as a result of the development of scientific curricula. It is one of the advanced colleges in the university in terms of infrastructure and laboratories. The college grants a bachelor's degree (computer science) according to the departments mentioned above. The college follows the course system. Postgraduate studies (Master - PhD) in the software department.

Training Camps at the Information Networks Department in Preparation for the NetCoIn Competition Duhaa Fadill Abbas The Information Networks Department at the College of Information Technology is gearing up for the launch of the NetCoIn competition. As part of these preparations, training camps have commenced to support participants in refining and completing their projects within the department s laboratories. These camps will run for three consecutive days, both in the morning and evening, providing students with an ideal environment to enhance their projects ahead of the official competition launch on Sunday, February 26. Participants are receiving continuous guidance from the Project Supervision Committee, which offers technical support and direction to ensure their projects meet the required standards. This initiative reflects the department s commitment to fostering technical and creative skills among students while encouraging them to develop innovative projects in the field of networking and information technology.
