It was established in 2009-2010 under the name of the College of Computer Technology, then its name was changed to the College of Information Technology in 2012, as a result of the development of scientific curricula. It is one of the advanced colleges in the university in terms of infrastructure and laboratories. The college grants a bachelor's degree (computer science) according to the departments mentioned above. The college follows the course system. Postgraduate studies (Master - PhD) in the software department.

Friendly Match Promotes Sportsmanship Among IT Students Duhaa Fadill Abbas In an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and friendly competition, a group of students from the College of Information Technology organized a friendly football match between second- and third-year students from the Software Engineering and Information Networks departments. The match showcased impressive performances from both teams, creating an exciting and sportsmanlike environment. The Software Engineering team secured victory with a 9-3 score in a game that highlighted high-level skills and strong student engagement. The match reflected an outstanding display of teamwork and a spirit of challenge, accompanied by the enthusiastic support of fellow students from various departments. This event is part of a series of recreational and sports activities organized by the college to strengthen student relationships and encourage participation in activities that combine fun and competitive sportsmanship in a friendly and enjoyable setting.
