The Software Department at the College of Information Technology Holds a Workshop on the Role of Women in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals

The Software Department at the College of Information Technology, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a workshop titled "The Role of Women in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals," presented by Assistant Lecturer Sara Abdul Redha.

The workshop addressed the vital and fundamental role of women in achieving sustainable development across social, economic, and environmental dimensions. It emphasized the importance of quality education in empowering women and enhancing their participation in society and the economy. Additionally, discussions highlighted the impact of women in the healthcare sector and their role in improving family and community health, as well as the significance of economic empowerment through employment opportunities and wage equality to promote sustainable economic growth.

Furthermore, the workshop explored women s participation in politics and decision-making and its impact on enhancing transparency, justice, and stability in societies. The lecturer underscored that achieving sustainable development goals cannot be realized without the full inclusion and empowerment of women across all fields, as they represent a driving force for positive change and the improvement of economic, social, and environmental conditions.

The workshop aimed to raise awareness about the crucial role of women in sustainable development and to encourage participants to actively engage in various sectors to achieve equality, empowerment, and a sustainable future for society as a whole.
