As part of a series of training initiatives organized by the Department of Information Networks in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Information Technology, a distinguished training course titled "Automatic Reference Formatting Using Mendeley" was held. The session was led by Assist. Prof. Alaa Shouqi Jaber and Asst. Lecturer Sara Kazem Idris, who provided an in-depth overview of the key features of the "Mendeley" program in managing and organizing academic references.

The course covered the significance of the "Mendeley" program in streamlining the process of reference and citation formatting automatically in academic writings. The tool is widely utilized by researchers and students across various academic disciplines. The instructors demonstrated how Mendeley integrates seamlessly with writing software such as Microsoft Word, simplifying the process of inserting references into texts and formatting them professionally and automatically.

The primary goal of the course was to enable participants to effectively utilize Mendeley for managing scientific references and sources. Additionally, the course highlighted the program’s capability to facilitate research by allowing access to scientific articles and papers from specialized databases, such as ScienceDirect. The course also emphasized the collaborative potential of Mendeley, enabling researchers to share personal libraries and work collectively on joint research projects.

This training session is part of the College of Information Technology’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the research skills of students and researchers, equipping them with modern tools that significantly contribute to improving the quality of academic work.
