Towards a Bright Digital Future: The Digital Transformation Seminar at the College of Information Technology

As part of the ongoing efforts to support digital transformation in higher education institutions, the Cybersecurity Department at the College of Information Technology, University of Babylon, organized a distinguished seminar titled "Towards a Bright Digital Future," sponsored by the Prime Minister’s Office and the Higher Youth Council, with the National Digital Team as the organizing body. The seminar aimed to discuss ways to enhance digital transformation in universities and educational institutions.

The seminar was presented by Amir Naseer Jassim, a third-year student in the Cybersecurity Department, representing the National Digital Team.

The seminar covered several important topics, including the world of cybersecurity, the methods for implementing successful digital transformation, the risks associated with digital transformation, the anticipated scenarios for such transformation, and provided real-life examples of successful digital transformation in institutions.

Additionally, Amir Naseer Jassim emphasized that the ministry fully supports such initiatives, highlighting its readiness to support digital transformation in universities. He also presented an example of a student attendance registration system using QR codes, where each student is assigned a unique code that is scanned by the instructor during the lecture to register attendance. This system contributes to simplifying administrative processes and enhancing the digital learning experience.

At the end of the seminar, Professor Dr. Wissam Sameer Bahieh, Dean of the College of Information Technology, delivered an inspiring speech to the students, offering words of encouragement and praise for their active participation in such events. He stressed the importance of digital transformation in advancing education and expanding knowledge horizons, noting that the college is committed to providing ideal opportunities for students to innovate and excel in technological fields.

The seminar was attended by the heads of academic departments, faculty members, and a number of students from the college. All attendees commended the significance of the topics discussed and emphasized the need to continue such seminars that foster a culture of digital transformation in education. The event marked an important step towards enhancing digital knowledge among students and faculty, while shedding light on future innovations in the fields of information technology and cybersecurity.
