College of Information Technology Organizes Tree Planting Campaign on National Tree Planting Day

In alignment with National Tree Planting Day and under the initiative of the College of Information Technology at the University of Babylon, the college organized an extensive tree planting campaign within its campus gardens. This campaign is part of the national initiative launched by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani titled "Iraq s Tree Planting Campaign."

The campaign was participated in by the college s administration, represented by Professor Dr. Wissam Sameer Bahieh, the Dean of the College, alongside department heads, faculty members, and students. Numerous trees, plants, and flower saplings were planted in the green spaces across the campus, aiming to promote a sustainable and healthy environment within the university.

The campaign s objective is to raise awareness among students and faculty members about the importance of maintaining green spaces and combating desertification, thereby contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals.

The college hopes that this initiative will serve as a model for other colleges and educational institutions, helping to spread a culture of environmental care and active participation in its development.
