As part of its ongoing efforts to enrich the research and practical experience of its students, the Department of Information Networks at the College of Information Technology – University of Babylon organized a scientific visit on Sunday, April 13, 2025, to the National Data Center, affiliated with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers. The visit included postgraduate students (Master s and PhD) and aimed to support their academic research and expose them to real-world applications of information technology.

During the visit, the students toured several key departments within the center, including the Technology Solutions Division, Data Management Center, Infrastructure and Resources Department, and the Information Security Unit. These departments play a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of Iraq’s digital infrastructure and government services.

The scientific activity provided a valuable opportunity for students and researchers to explore advanced technologies and systems implemented at the national level, closely related to their academic field. A detailed presentation was also given on the “Urr Electronic Portal”, a comprehensive platform that integrates both electronic and paper-based government services. This portal allows Iraqi citizens and residents to easily access and complete administrative procedures across various government institutions, thereby improving efficiency and reducing time and effort.

This visit reflects the college’s commitment to bridging the gap between academic knowledge and practical implementation, and to fostering collaboration with national institutions that are instrumental in advancing digital transformation in Iraq.
