Workshop at the College of Information Technology Highlights Family Leadership and Women’s Empowerment

As part of the Third National Plan for the Advancement of Iraqi Women and under the pillar of Participation and Institutional Reform for the year 2025, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Information Technology organized a workshop on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, entitled: “Family Leadership in Society: Making Wise Household Decisions.”

The workshop was led by Dr. Hiba Mohammed and Lecturer Abrar Saad, and focused on empowering family members—particularly women—to play an active leadership role within their households. Emphasis was placed on making thoughtful decisions through dialogue, mutual understanding, and joint planning.

Key topics included the fundamentals of effective family leadership and its impact on family stability and strong community building. The workshop also addressed the challenges Iraqi families face amid evolving social and economic conditions and highlighted the importance of promoting a culture of shared responsibility in family decision-making.

This workshop is part of a broader series of awareness and training activities aimed at fostering social reform and strengthening women s leadership roles across various spheres of life.
