Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Amin Al-Yasiri, President of the University of Babylon, inaugurated the activities of Sustainability Week hosted by Al-Mustaqbal University College, representing the Minister in this significant academic event. Dr. Al-Yasiri reviewed the event s organization and personally supervised the University of Babylon’s participation, reaffirming his support for academic initiatives that align scientific research with the principles of sustainable development.

As part of the College of Information Technology’s ongoing commitment to fostering innovation and sustainability, the Department of Information Networks actively took part in this event through a distinguished selection of student projects. These projects were carefully nominated by Professor Dr. Al-Harith Abdul Kareem Abdullah, Head of the Department, with a particular emphasis on projects of notable merit — including the winning project of the Sustainable Technological Innovation Competition held previously at the University of Babylon. Additional projects recognized with letters of appreciation from the university presidency were also showcased, reflecting the students’ creativity and commitment to sustainable goals.

Dr. Al-Harith emphasized the importance of involving students in presenting and discussing their work directly with the supervising committee throughout the event, as such engagement plays a vital role in developing their scientific and practical competencies.

The College of Information Technology s pavilion drew considerable attention and engagement from visitors, offering a compelling representation of the college’s mission to promote innovation and sustainable thinking.
