The College of Information Technology Secures Second and Third Places in the National “Nation Reads” Competition Duhaa Fadill Abbas The College of Information Technology at the University of Babylon has achieved a remarkable milestone in the second edition of the national “Nation Reads” competition, securing both second and third places at the university and Babylon Governorate levels. This accomplishment came through the outstanding performance of Mustafa Ahmed from the Department of Software and Abbas Ibrahim from the Department of Cybersecurity. The two students were honored by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Wissam Sameer Bahya, as well as by the Head of the Software Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sura Zaki Al-Rashed, and the Head of the Cybersecurity Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Khilfa. They praised the students’ dedication and excellence, expressing pride in this distinguished academic and cultural achievement. This success was made possible under the direct supervision and guidance of Mr. Yasser Saad Joudi, who played a significant role in mentoring and encouraging the students to participate and excel. It is worth noting that the two students will now represent Babylon Governorate in the competition’s final stage. The “Nation Reads” initiative, launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and sponsored by the Holy Hussain Shrine, stands as one of the most prominent cultural programs aimed at enriching intellectual and cultural awareness among university students across various disciplines, including Quranic interpretation, Islamic thought, ethics, human development, artificial intelligence, and other critical areas. This achievement serves as yet another testament to the College of Information Technology’s unwavering commitment to empowering students and fostering excellence across diverse fields of knowledge.
