As part of the College of Information Technology at the University of Babylon’s ongoing commitment to supporting scientific research and empowering its students to achieve global recognition, postgraduate student Safaa Hadi Khudair from the Department of Software has published a scientific paper in an internationally indexed journal under the Springer publishing house, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Hidhab Khalid Ubaies.

The paper, titled "Impact of the Number of Bands on the Accuracy of Land Use and Land Cover (LUCL) Classification in Sentinel-2 Imagery," highlights the critical role of satellite imagery in the field of remote sensing. It emphasizes how such data contribute significantly to land cover classification, environmental monitoring, and disaster management. The study specifically focused on Sentinel-2 imagery, which provides multispectral data across thirteen spectral bands, investigating the impact of the number of bands on LUCL classification accuracy using machine learning algorithms.
