It was established in 2009-2010 under the name of the College of Computer Technology, then its name was changed to the College of Information Technology in 2012, as a result of the development of scientific curricula. It is one of the advanced colleges in the university in terms of infrastructure and laboratories. The college grants a bachelor's degree (computer science) according to the departments mentioned above. The college follows the course system. Postgraduate studies (Master - PhD) in the software department.

Final Examination Schedules for Undergraduate Students at the College of Information Technology Duhaa Fadill Abbas The Deanery of the College of Information Technology announces the final examination schedule for undergraduate students for the academic year 2024–2025, pertaining to the second semester, as outlined below. Final exams are set to commence on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. In this regard, the Deanery urges all students to strictly adhere to the examination dates specified in the schedule and to comply with the examination regulations issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Important Notes: - All examinations will begin promptly at 9:00 AM for both morning and evening studies. - In the event of an official public holiday, the exam scheduled for that day will be rescheduled to the day following the last exam in the timetable. - Students are required to be present in the examination halls at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the exam. - Each student must bring their own necessary examination materials; borrowing from peers is strictly prohibited. - Adherence to the official uniform is mandatory.
