Cybersecurity Department Hosts Scientific Seminar on Renewable Energy and Its Role in Addressing Climate Change

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance environmental and technological awareness among students, the Cybersecurity Department organized a distinguished scientific seminar titled "Renewable Energy", delivered by Assistant Lecturers Hassan Abdulameer, Ali Zuhair Kaneesh, and Rasha Hussein, with the presence of an engaged student audience.

The seminar explored a wide range of renewable energy sources, including solar energy in its passive and active forms, solar towers, solar thermal energy, and solar cookers. It also covered hydropower, tidal energy, biomass, geothermal energy, and solar-derived hydrogen.

During the session, the speakers presented a comparative analysis of each energy source in terms of efficiency, cost, environmental impact, and operational requirements. The seminar also addressed the political and economic challenges associated with the adoption of these technologies, and highlighted potential solutions through increased investment in research and development, as well as the implementation of supportive public policies.

The lecturers emphasized the vital role of renewable energy as a sustainable solution to climate change, underscoring its potential to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, foster energy independence at the national level, and create new economic and employment opportunities.
