College of Information Technology Welcomes the Mobile Team for Voter Data Update In collaboration with the Independent High Electoral Commission Duhaa Fadill Abbas As part of ongoing cooperation between state institutions and in a bid to strengthen the spirit of citizenship and active participation in the electoral process, the College of Information Technology at the University of Babylon welcomed a mobile team from the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. The team, operating under the IHEC, was dispatched from Ali Jawad Al-Tahir Secondary School. This initiative was held under the direct supervision and attentive follow-up of the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Wissam Sameer Baheya, who emphasized the importance of updating voter data and obtaining the biometric voter card. He encouraged students to take part in this crucial step toward ensuring effective participation in the upcoming elections. The campaign witnessed significant engagement from both students and faculty members, many of whom visited the temporary registration station set up within the college to complete the required procedures. The process was carried out smoothly thanks to the excellent coordination and logistical support provided by the college administration. The operational duties and on-ground execution were led by Mr. Mohammed Muhannad Al-Hasnawi and Ms. Soha Jabbar Kazem, the two IHEC-authorized representatives, who played an exemplary role in welcoming participants and efficiently processing their registration and update requests. This event forms part of a nationwide campaign launched by the IHEC, in collaboration with various educational institutions, aiming to raise electoral awareness among young people—particularly university students. The College of Information Technology reaffirms its unwavering commitment to supporting national initiatives that contribute to state-building and promote the values of democracy and responsible citizenship, believing in the essential role of educational institutions in shaping the awareness of future generations.
