The Department of Software Organizes Awareness Workshop Titled "Update Your Data, Vote for Your Future" to Promote Electoral Awareness Duhaa Fadill Abbas In alignment with the directives issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Independent High Electoral Commission, the Department of Software at the College of Information Technology organized an awareness workshop entitled "Update Your Data, Vote for Your Future". The event was part of a broader campaign aimed at enhancing electoral awareness and encouraging academic communities to actively participate in the democratic process through updating their voter registration information. The workshop was delivered by Assistant Programmer Mustafa Qais and Assistant Programmer Safaa Sameer, and was attended by a significant number of students and staff members from the college. The attendees showed great engagement and interest in the workshop s themes and discussions. During the session, the speakers provided a detailed explanation of the procedures involved in updating biometric voter cards. They clarified the steps mandated by the registration centers affiliated with the Electoral Commission and emphasized the importance of verifying the accuracy of personal data to ensure a smooth and problem-free voting experience. Additionally, the workshop addressed the categories of voters required to update their information and highlighted potential issues that may arise from outdated or incorrect data. The workshop aimed to raise awareness within the academic environment about the significance of electoral participation and to foster the concept of the informed voter who is capable of making responsible and well-considered choices. It also sought to instill a sense of national responsibility among students and staff by highlighting the vital role that academic institutions can play in supporting democratic practices through education and outreach. This initiative is part of a series of activities undertaken by the Department of Software that reflect its ongoing commitment to community engagement. By leveraging academic knowledge and institutional capacity, the department seeks to position the university as a catalyst for positive change and a beacon of civic responsibility and awareness.
