Faculty Member from the Software Department Publishes Research on an Intelligent Model for Load Optimization in Fog Computing Environments Duhaa Fadill Abbas In line with efforts to advance scientific research and develop intelligent solutions in the fields of fog computing and the Internet of Things (IoT), Assistant Lecturer Abrar Saad Al-Mawla from the Software Department – College of Information Technology, University of Babylon – has published a distinguished scientific study in the international journal Engineering, Technology & Applied Science Research, indexed in the second quartile (Q2) of Clarivate databases, with an impact factor of 1.5. The study is entitled: An Attention-Based LSTM-ELECTRE Model for Intelligent and Proactive Load Balancing in Real-Time Fog Computing Environments It addresses one of the most significant challenges in fog computing environments: load balancing among nodes, particularly for dynamic IoT applications that demand real-time responsiveness. The researcher proposed a hybrid model that combines the predictive capabilities of Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) neural networks with an attention mechanism for accurate future load forecasting, alongside the integration of the ELECTRE multi-criteria decision-making algorithm to optimally distribute tasks across nodes. This research provides a promising framework for building more stable and reliable fog computing environments to support real-time IoT applications. It also reflects the commitment of the College of Information Technology at the University of Babylon to advancing scientific research and expanding academic collaboration in cutting-edge technology domains.
