It was established in 2009-2010 under the name of the College of Computer Technology, then its name was changed to the College of Information Technology in 2012, as a result of the development of scientific curricula. It is one of the advanced colleges in the university in terms of infrastructure and laboratories. The college grants a bachelor's degree (computer science) according to the departments mentioned above. The college follows the course system. Postgraduate studies (Master - PhD) in the software department.

Final Exam Schedules for First-Year Students at the College of Information Technology Duhaa Fadill Abbas The Dean’s Office of the College of Information Technology has announced the final exam schedule for first-year undergraduate students for the second semester of the academic year 2024-2025, as detailed below. Final exams for the subjects will commence on Sunday, 1 June , 2025. In this context, the College’s Dean’s Office calls upon all students to strictly adhere to the exam dates indicated in the schedule, as well as to observe the exam instructions recommended by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Important Notes: - All exams will begin promptly at 9:00 AM for both morning and evening sessions. - In the event of an official holiday, the exam scheduled for that day will be postponed until after the last exam listed in the schedule. - Students must enter the exam halls at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the exam. - Students are required to bring all necessary materials for the exam, as borrowing from classmates will not be permitted. - Adherence to the uniform dress code is mandatory.
