As part of its continuous efforts to engage with leading scientific experiences and to enhance its academic presence on both local and international platforms, the College of Information Technology at the University of Babylon took part actively in the First International Scientific Forum for Sustainable Universities, held over two days on May 5–6, 2025, under the theme: "Advancing Education Towards a Scientifically-Driven Future Supported by Artificial Intelligence."

The college was represented at this significant scientific event by Prof. Dr. Wesam Sameer Bhaya, Dean of the College, who delivered a distinguished lecture entitled "Ensuring the Ethical and Legal Use of Artificial Intelligence in Educational Environments." In his presentation, Dr. Baheeah addressed the challenges and future directions of AI integration in higher education institutions, emphasizing the importance of adopting clear legal and ethical frameworks to ensure that this technology serves academic values.

The forum also witnessed notable participation from several faculty members of the College of Information Technology, who attended various sessions and workshops held as part of the event. Their engagement provided valuable exposure to the latest research findings and practical applications in the fields of artificial intelligence and smart education. In recognition of their active involvement, participants were awarded international certificates of participation.

This participation aligns with the college’s strategic vision and the broader objectives of the University of Babylon to support digital transformation, foster the integration of technology in education, and keep pace with global developments in AI and its applications in teaching and research.
