As part of the ongoing scientific activities in the Department of Software at the College of Information Technology – University of Babylon, Master’s student Ali Jasim Mohammed Ubaid delivered his pre-thesis seminar to present and discuss his research proposal entitled:
"A Hybrid Approach for
Cyberbullying Detection Using BERT-CNN-Multi-Head Attention"
under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Wafaa Mohammed Saeed Hamza, and in the presence of the department s scientific committee.

The research addresses one of the most pressing contemporary issues in the digital society—cyberbullying, which has become an escalating psychological and social threat in light of the widespread use of social media platforms. The study aims to develop an intelligent model based on state-of-the-art artificial intelligence techniques to enhance the accuracy of detecting cyberbullying in multi-class textual content.

The proposed model integrates three advanced components: BERT for extracting the contextual meaning of text, Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) for capturing local semantic features, and the Multi-Head Attention mechanism to strengthen focus on semantically significant words within the context.
