A Delegation from Huawei Visits the College of Information Technology to Discuss Prospects of Cooperation

As part of its continuous efforts to enhance its technical infrastructure and improve student competencies, the College of Information Technology at the University of Babylon received an official representative from the global company Huawei to discuss potential avenues of collaboration between the college and the company. The discussions focused on supporting and developing the internal communication network and enriching the educational and technological environment within the college.

The visiting delegation was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Wesam Sameer Bhaya, Dean of the College; Dr. Al-Harith Abdul Kareem Abdullah, Head of the Information Networks Department; Dr. George Iskander Hussein; and Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein Mahdi, both faculty members in the same department.

During the visit, an extensive meeting was held to explore possible frameworks for cooperation. Mr. Samer Jamal, Director of Industry Solutions for the Private Sector at Huawei, affirmed the company s readiness to support projects aimed at developing the college’s digital infrastructure, in a way that enhances the technical learning environment and strengthens students practical skills.

The visit also included a field tour of the college’s classrooms and scientific laboratories to assess the current resources and discuss ways of upgrading them in line with the latest global technologies.

This visit comes as part of the college’s broader strategy to engage with the private sector and establish strategic partnerships with leading companies in the field of information and communication technology. Such initiatives aim to elevate the college’s academic standing and contribute to the preparation of highly competent technical professionals.
