Workshop on Global Best Practices in Quality Assurance Organized by the Department of Cybersecurity Duhaa Fadill Abbas As part of its ongoing efforts to foster a culture of quality and enhance the institutional environment, the Department of Cybersecurity at the College of Information Technology – University of Babylon, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a workshop entitled "An Overview of Global Best Practices and Trends in the Field of Quality Assurance." The session was presented by Lecturer Nawras Nasrallah Khudair and Assistant Programmer Shukr Hamed Shakir, with the participation of a number of college staff members from various departments and administrative units. The workshop aimed to shed light on modern concepts in quality management and assurance, while reviewing leading global trends adopted to improve institutional performance. It also highlighted several practical experiences and successful models that can be applied within the university setting. Key themes addressed in the workshop included: the concept of quality assurance in academic and administrative contexts, the foundations of building an organizational culture rooted in continuous improvement, and the introduction of internationally recognized frameworks used in institutional performance evaluation—such as ISO standards and academic accreditation criteria. Further emphasis was placed on the significance of strategic planning based on performance indicators, internal review mechanisms, and the role of work teams in applying total quality management principles at the departmental and unit levels. This workshop is part of a broader series of activities through which the college seeks to raise awareness among administrative staff regarding the importance of quality, and to promote the principles of institutional excellence in alignment with academic accreditation standards and the strategic vision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
