Duhaa Fadill Abbas
As part of the humanitarian and mission-driven approach adopted by the University of Babylon in serving the community, the College of Information Technology made a distinguished contribution to the university’s procession dedicated to serving the pilgrims of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) on their journey to the holy city of Karbala to commemorate the eternal occasion of Arbaeen.

This participation was conducted under the supervision and guidance of the President of the University of Babylon, Professor Dr. Ameen Al-Yasiri, in the presence of the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mansour Al-Khafaji, the Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Mithaq Talib Abdul Jabouri, the Dean of the College of Information Technology, Professor Dr. Wesam Sameer Bhaya, along with a number of faculty members and deans from various colleges of the University of Babylon, all of whom were keen to be part of this blessed endeavor.

The college’s participation was marked by a spirit of generosity and dedication, as its staff and students contributed to providing a range of services to the pilgrims. These included the continuous distribution of meals, water, and tea throughout the day, as well as assisting in organizing the movement of guests and supporting service teams in meeting their needs. The religious and cultural dimension was also strongly present through active involvement in the daily intellectual lectures organized by the procession, which addressed the moral values and lessons derived from the uprising of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).

Among these contributions, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Habeeb Al-Azzawi delivered a profound religious lecture titled “The Uprising of Imam Hussain: Between the Jurisprudence of Obedience and the Jurisprudence of Responsibility – A Qur’anic Perspective”, enriching the audience with deep spiritual and intellectual insights.

The college’s role extended beyond service and cultural activities to comprehensive media documentation of the participation. In this regard, Mr. Yasser Saad Joudi played an outstanding role in providing full daily coverage of all activities, being present on the ground in various service areas, directly assisting pilgrims, and demonstrating remarkable dedication to the success of the procession. Through his camera lens, he conveyed vivid images that reflected the unity of the university community in serving the pilgrims, while highlighting the active and impactful role of the College of Information Technology in ensuring the success of this blessed event.
