College of Information Technology Sustains Garden Care to Enhance Campus Aesthetics and Environmental Sustainability Duhaa Fadill Abbas The College of Information Technology at the University of Babylon places significant emphasis on the preservation and enhancement of its green spaces and gardens, which serve as a cultural and aesthetic gateway for the College, reflecting its image to students and visitors alike. These initiatives align with the College’s broader commitment to cultivating an integrated educational environment that harmonizes academic advancement with architectural and environmental beauty. The Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Wesam Sameer Bhaya, closely follows these efforts in collaboration with the Administrative Affairs Division, ensuring that the gardens remain in their most distinguished form. Such attention contributes to creating a comfortable and supportive atmosphere for both students and faculty throughout their academic journey. The College’s gardens are continuously revitalized through afforestation activities, the planting of new seasonal trees and plants, and the implementation of organized irrigation campaigns. These efforts are complemented by the maintenance of irrigation systems, the reorganization of flowerbeds, and the pruning of existing trees to ensure a more orderly and vibrant appearance. Beyond their aesthetic value, these practices embody the College’s vision of embedding environmental sustainability within the campus culture. Students are encouraged to participate actively in the preservation of trees and green areas, recognizing them as a shared responsibility befitting academic institutions. The College affirms that such ongoing initiatives not only enhance the overall image of the University of Babylon but also present the College of Information Technology in a refined and civilized manner—one that reflects its educational values and its humanistic mission of nurturing generations that combine knowledge with environmental awareness.
