Faculty Member from the College of Information Technology, University of Babylon, Participates in a Master’s Thesis Defense at the University of Karbala

Assistant Professor Dr. Mai Abdul-Munem Saleh, a faculty member in the Department of Software at the College of Information Technology, University of Babylon, participated as a committee member in the defense of the master’s thesis entitled “Image Cryptography System Based on Blockchain Using SHA-256 and MD5” by the graduate student Fatima Raed Rahman, held at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, University of Karbala.

The thesis aimed to enhance the security of digital images, accelerate their processing, and prevent tampering through a proposed framework that integrates blockchain technologies with hashing algorithms (MD5, SHA-256, and SHA-512). This approach contributes to safeguarding sensitive images and improving efficiency in handling digital data.

The examining committee commended the significance of the research, emphasizing its alignment with contemporary trends in information security, and recommended the adoption of the proposed system in advanced applications dedicated to digital data protection.

The defense concluded successfully with the student being awarded the master’s degree. Dr. Mai Abdul-Munem Saleh’s participation reflected an active scholarly contribution, further enriching the academic record of the College of Information Technology at the University of Babylon in supporting scientific research and fostering academic collaboration among Iraqi universities.
