College of Information Technology Continues Its Campaign to Combat Violence Against Women

The Women s Affairs Unit, in collaboration with the Software Department at the College of Information Technology, organized a seminar titled "From Pain to Power: Insights into Women s Experiences and Their Resistance to Violence", as part of the Institutional Participation and Reform pillar, under the second axis focused on combating violence against women and girls in all its forms.

The seminar was presented by Lecturer Dr. Hiba Mohammed Jaafar and Assistant Lecturer Abrar Asaad, providing both a scientific and humanistic perspective on women s experiences with violence, with a focus on transforming pain into an empowering force that contributes to raising societal awareness in support of rights and protection.

The seminar highlighted real-life examples of women and their approaches to confronting various forms of violence, shedding light on empowerment mechanisms and the vital role of educational institutions in promoting a culture of awareness and prevention, and fostering social behaviors that respect human dignity.

The seminar concluded with a set of recommendations emphasizing the importance of enhancing educational programs and supporting initiatives that establish a safe environment for women and girls, in alignment with the responsibility of academic institutions to confront negative phenomena and contribute to building a more just and stable society.
