Software Department Organizes a Workshop on Professional Conduct Between Legal Duties and Ethical Responsibilities

The Software Department at the College of Information Technology, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a workshop entitled Professional Conduct Between Legal Duties and Ethical Responsibilities. The workshop was delivered by Asst Prof Dr Khawla Kazem Mohammed and Asst Lecturer Fadel Rahman Hatif, with the attendance of the college’s administrative staff.

The workshop aimed to enhance employees’ understanding of professional conduct as a comprehensive framework that integrates adherence to laws, regulations, and administrative guidelines with a commitment to ethical values that promote integrity and discipline in the workplace. It further sought to strengthen professional awareness in ways that contribute to improved institutional performance and a more responsible work culture.

The workshop provided an in depth discussion of the concept of professional conduct, outlining the legal standards governing employees’ duties and the mechanisms required for proper implementation of those responsibilities. It also highlighted key ethical obligations that support a respectful, accountable, and professional work environment. Real world administrative examples were presented to illustrate how legal and ethical principles can be applied to address workplace challenges effectively, safeguard the public interest, and reinforce a culture of integrity within the institution.
