Scientific Seminars in Mathematical Modelling Highlight the Information Networks Department’s Commitment to Research Excellence Duhaa Fadill Abbas As part of its strategic focus on advancing research and fostering scientific innovation, the Information Networks Department at the College of Information Technology, University of Babylon, organized a series of scientific seminars for master’s students under the supervision of Asst Prof Dr Faiz Ali Rashid, with the attendance of the Department Head, Prof Dr Al-Harith Abdul Karim Abdullah. These seminars reflect the department’s ongoing efforts to support research development and enhance students’ skills in mathematical modelling and its practical applications in computer networks, strengthening their ability to bridge theoretical concepts with real-world applications. The seminars covered a diverse range of topics that highlight both the depth and breadth of the field. Students presented research in probabilistic modelling and data analysis, network performance simulation, reliability evaluation using mathematical methods, algorithmic applications for network optimization, and the use of graph theory and neural networks to solve complex networking challenges. Several seminars also explored practical modelling applications in designing future networks and emerging technologies such as Web 3.0, providing students with a direct understanding of how scientific theory translates into practical network solutions. Each student was allocated dedicated time to present their seminar and engage in in-depth discussions with faculty members, allowing for detailed academic feedback, exchange of research ideas, and enhancement of presentation and analytical skills. These seminars underscore the Information Networks Department’s commitment to developing students’ research capabilities and fostering an interactive educational environment that encourages creativity and innovation in advanced networking domains.
