College of Information Technology Participates in the Second Annual Festival at the University of Babylon in Celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities

The College of Information Technology participated in the second annual festival organized by the University of Babylon on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities held under the theme Inspiring Celebration Empowering Technology Sustainable Impact. The event was organized by the University’s Special Needs Unit under the patronage of the University President Professor Dr Ameen Al Yasiri and attended by several university leaders academic figures community representatives and security authorities. The college was represented by its Dean Professor Dr Wesam Sameer Bhaya along with the heads of its scientific departments affirming the college’s commitment to supporting the university’s vision of promoting inclusion and empowering individuals with disabilities within the academic environment.

The festival witnessed active participation from students and staff of the college across all departments who contributed to the success of the activities through organizational support and academic engagement. The Dean emphasized that the college’s participation reflects a firm belief in the role of technology in empowering persons with disabilities and creating new opportunities for learning work and innovation noting that the College of Information Technology is a key partner in supporting university initiatives with humanistic and developmental impact.

The college’s committees played an essential role in organizing the event. The committee from the Software Department consisting of Lecturer Feryal Jasim Abd Al Razzaq Staff Member Safaa Sameer Mohammed Student Yahya Suheir and Student Mohammed Rasool Ali contributed to organizational tasks and activity coordination. Meanwhile the committee from the Information Networks Department which included Lecturer Haareth Abbas Kadhim Staff Member Nibras Abd Al Redha Ahmed Student Randa Mahdi Kadhim and Student Amina Ali Abd Al Hassan supported the art exhibition and accompanied the awareness and educational activities contributing to the professional and distinguished presentation of the event.

This participation reflects the commitment of the College of Information Technology to the University of Babylon’s vision of promoting genuine inclusion for persons with disabilities and ensuring equal educational opportunities through technological initiatives specialized programs and sustainable academic support which form a core element of the college’s academic and humanitarian mission.
