The College of Information Technology Hosts Its 3rd International Scientific Conference 3INC 2025 in Collaboration with Springer and with Wide Academic Participation

The College of Information Technology at the University of Babylon held its third annual international scientific conference entitled " 3rd International Conference on Innovations of Intelligent Informatics, Networking, and Cybersecurity – 3INC 2025 " in collaboration with the global publishing house Springer and with official support from the Scientific Engineers Club, attracting distinguished researchers and academics from both Iraq and abroad. This event underscores the college’s commitment to advancing scientific research and fostering broader academic collaboration.
The conference was inaugurated under the patronage of the President of the University of Babylon, Professor Dr. Amin Elyasri, in the presence of the university s vice presidents for scientific and administrative affairs, alongside several deans, faculty members, researchers, and undergraduate and postgraduate students. In his speech, the Dean of the College of Information Technology, Professor Dr. Wesam Sameer Bhaya, highlighted the conference’s focus on three core domains aligned with the requirements of the digital era: Intelligent Informatics, Information Networking, and Cybersecurity, emphasizing the high level of competitiveness achieved by the event, with 64 research papers submitted and 18 accepted following a rigorous scientific review process involving more than 120 independent reviewers from 34 universities across Iraq and internationally.
Professor Dr. Safaa Abis Al-Mamouri, Chair of the Conference Organizing Committee, underscored the strategic significance of the conference in enhancing Iraqi researchers’ scientific competence, contributing to the global ranking of Iraqi universities, and promoting scholarly publications in reputable international journals.
The first day of the conference featured a keynote lecture by Professor Dr. Mohammed Anbar from the Cybersecurity Research Center – University of Sciences, who addressed major challenges and contemporary trends in cybersecurity. The program also included a documentary film introducing the departments and academic activities of the College of Information Technology. The sessions on the first day were moderated by Dr. Ahmed Habib Al-Azzawi, who introduced the scientific tracks. The first session, titledComputing methodologies, was chaired by Professor Dr. Hedhab Khalid Beis with Dr. Murtadha Dawood Al-Husseini as rapporteur.
The second day opened with a welcoming speech by the Dean, followed by a specialized lecture delivered by Hussein Al-Rubaie, a professional software engineer at Microsoft, on Reshaping Artificial Intelligence for the Labor Market: Challenges and Emerging Career Pathways. This was followed by a showcase of the creative achievements of the college’s students before moving on to the subsequent sessions. The second day included the second session, Computing methodologies, chaired by Professor Dr. Esraa Hadi Ali and rapporteur Professor Dr. Faez Ali Rashid; the third session, Networks, chaired by Professor Dr. Ahmed Habib Al-Azzawi with Assistant Professor Dr. Suad Abdelilah Al-Asadi as rapporteur; and the fourth session, Privacy and Security, chaired by Professor Dr. Huda Naji Nawaf with Dr. Hassanain Ya’rob Mohammed as rapporteur.
The accepted research papers covered a wide range of advanced scientific topics, including modern algorithms, AI-driven networking solutions, cybersecurity strategies, and intelligent data processing techniques. This breadth of research facilitates the exchange of ideas, promotes scientific collaboration, and supports the development of innovative solutions addressing both theoretical and practical challenges across rapidly evolving technical domains.
The 3INC 2025 conference thus represents a robust scientific platform that reflects the College of Information Technology’s dedication to keeping pace with global developments in research, enhancing its academic presence locally and internationally, in alignment with the University of Babylon’s vision of fostering innovation and scientific excellence.
