It was established in 2009-2010 under the name of the College of Computer Technology, then its name was changed to the College of Information Technology in 2012, as a result of the development of scientific curricula. It is one of the advanced colleges in the university in terms of infrastructure and laboratories. The college grants a bachelor's degree (computer science) according to the departments mentioned above. The college follows the course system. Postgraduate studies (Master - PhD) in the software department.

College of Information Technology Hosts Biostatistics Exam for Master s Students of the College of Science Duhaa Fadill Abbas As part of its commitment to supporting the academic journey of graduate students at the University of Babylon, the College of Information Technology hosted the Biostatistics exam for Master s students in the Department of Life Sciences at the College of Science this morning. This hosting reflects the college’s dedication to providing an optimal environment for practical exams requiring SPSS software, as the College of Science lacked a sufficient number of computers. Consequently, the computer laboratory at the College of Information Technology was allocated for this purpose. The exam was conducted under the supervision and oversight of the College Council to ensure a smooth and effective examination process, demonstrating the College of Information Technology’s commitment to supporting students and facilitating their academic success.
