It was established in 2009-2010 under the name of the College of Computer Technology, then its name was changed to the College of Information Technology in 2012, as a result of the development of scientific curricula. It is one of the advanced colleges in the university in terms of infrastructure and laboratories. The college grants a bachelor's degree (computer science) according to the departments mentioned above. The college follows the course system. Postgraduate studies (Master - PhD) in the software department.

Developer X Team at the Software Engineering Department Organizes a Charity Bazaar at the College of Information Technology Duhaa Fadill Abbas In line with the vision and objectives of the Software Engineering Department to promote volunteerism, strengthen students’ sense of initiative, and enhance social responsibility, the Developer X Team at the Software Engineering Department, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Information Technology, organized a charity bazaar that continued for three consecutive days within the college premises. This initiative reflected the social and humanitarian dimension of university activities and their role in serving the community. The activity was organized under the direct supervision of the faculty members of the Software Engineering Department and followed up by Assistant Professor Dr. Sura Zaki Naji, Head of the Software Engineering Department, along with Dr. Raed Ghazi, Ms. Aliaa Mohammed Reda, Ms. Hind Falah, Ms. Sara Haider, and Ms. Intithar Fadhil. Their collective efforts contributed to providing an organized and supportive environment that enabled students to demonstrate their creativity and successfully implement the activity. The charity bazaar witnessed active participation from students of the department, who presented a variety of products and creative works in an atmosphere characterized by cooperation and positive interaction among students, faculty members, and college affiliates. The event also received notable attendance, which played a significant role in achieving its humanitarian and social objectives and highlighted students’ commitment to charitable initiatives and the values of solidarity and giving within the university campus. This activity forms part of a series of events organized by the Software Engineering Department in alignment with its academic and educational mission, aiming to develop well-rounded students both academically and socially. It further reflects the College of Information Technology’s commitment to supporting student activities and community-oriented initiatives that contribute to building responsible, socially engaged graduates.
