Within the framework of the objectives of the Software Department at the College of Information Technology, University of Babylon, which aim to strengthen community partnership and promote digital awareness among different segments of society, Dr. Muhannad Mohammed Jassim, a faculty member of the department, participated in delivering an awareness-raising session on the safe use of electronic devices during the morning assembly at Al-Ameed Primary School for Boys. This activity was conducted as part of the “Behavior Ambassadors” initiative adopted by Al-Ameed Schools for Boys and Girls.
The session addressed key themes related to the principles of responsible and safe use of modern technologies and their future impact on human health. Dr. Jassim presented the information in a simplified and age-appropriate manner, contributing to the reinforcement of positive digital behaviors and enhancing students’ awareness of the importance of maintaining a balanced and healthy approach to the use of electronic devices.
This participation highlighted the active role of the Software Engineering Department in building effective links with educational institutions and supporting efforts aimed at preparing a well-informed generation equipped with integrated technical and behavioral competencies. Such efforts align with the College’s mission to serve the community and to employ scientific knowledge in achieving sustainable educational and social impact.
The event concluded with the presentation of the “Supportive Family Shield” to Dr. Muhannad Mohammed Jassim, as a symbolic gesture of appreciation for his contributions to awareness initiatives. In addition, the students presented an educational play on public health, aimed at strengthening awareness of healthy lifestyle patterns and reinforcing sound behaviors in maintaining personal and community health.
