It was established in 2009-2010 under the name of the College of Computer Technology, then its name was changed to the College of Information Technology in 2012, as a result of the development of scientific curricula. It is one of the advanced colleges in the university in terms of infrastructure and laboratories. The college grants a bachelor's degree (computer science) according to the departments mentioned above. The college follows the course system. Postgraduate studies (Master - PhD) in the software department.

The College of Information Technology Organizes an Awareness Workshop Entitled “A Calm Mind and Clear Rules” Duhaa Fadill Abbas Within the framework of the efforts of the Information Networks Department at the College of Information Technology, University of Babylon, to provide academic and psychological support to students, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the department, organized a workshop entitled “A Calm Mind and Clear Rules.” The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Ali Hussein Mahdi, a faculty member of the Information Networks Department, and Assistant Lecturer Ghaith Hussein, a faculty member of the College of Basic Education. The workshop aimed to assist students in their psychological and academic preparation for the final examinations by enhancing concentration skills, promoting effective stress management strategies, and reinforcing the principles of time management and adherence to academic guidelines, thereby contributing to improved academic performance. Assistant Lecturer Ghaith Hussein presented the “Calm Mind” theme from a psychological perspective, highlighting its role in coping with academic pressures and in fostering balanced and well-informed decision-making. In parallel, Assistant Lecturer Ali Hussein Mahdi addressed the “Clear Rules” theme from a legal and regulatory perspective, clarifying students’ rights and responsibilities, particularly with regard to examination-related procedures in accordance with the applicable instructions and regulations. In addition, the workshop covered a range of educational and awareness-oriented topics, including practical approaches to managing examination anxiety, fostering positive thinking, emphasizing the importance of proactive study planning, and underscoring the role of a supportive university environment in achieving a balanced integration between academic achievement and psychological well-being. The organizers emphasized that this activity aligns with the objectives of the Information Networks Department and the Continuing Education Unit in strengthening students’ educational and personal development, and in equipping them with the scientific and behavioral competencies necessary to prepare graduates with integrated academic and ethical capabilities, in accordance with the College’s mission to serve the community and enhance the quality of the educational process.
