It was established in 2009-2010 under the name of the College of Computer Technology, then its name was changed to the College of Information Technology in 2012, as a result of the development of scientific curricula. It is one of the advanced colleges in the university in terms of infrastructure and laboratories. The college grants a bachelor's degree (computer science) according to the departments mentioned above. The college follows the course system. Postgraduate studies (Master - PhD) in the software department.

Final Examination Schedules for Undergraduate Students College of Information Technology Duhaa Fadill Abbas The Deanship of the College of Information Technology announces the **final examination schedule for the first semester for undergraduate students - First Stage in the three academic departments (Software , Information Networks, and Cybersecurity) for the 2025–2026 academic year. The final examinations will commence on Saturday, 7 February 2026. In this context, the Deanship urges all students to adhere strictly to the examination dates and times stated in the schedule and to comply with the examination instructions issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Very Important Examination Instructions: - Wearing the official unified college uniform during examination days is mandatory. - Students must bring all required examination materials, including the university student ID, blue and black pens only, a ruler, an eraser, and a pencil sharpener. - All examination halls are equipped with active surveillance cameras and are monitored daily by several faculty members. Any attempt at cheating will result in strict disciplinary action, including failure in all subjects and deprivation from study for one full academic year. - Students must be present in the examination hall by 8:45 a.m. Entry after 8:55 a.m. will not be permitted, except in duly justified exceptional cases. - Proper conduct and respect toward examination supervisors are required at all times. Supervisors are faculty members of the college, and students are expected to reflect a positive image. - Submission of the examination booklet is not permitted before one and a half hours from the start of the exam, i.e., after 10:30 a.m. Wishing our dear students every success and achievement.
