It was established in 2009-2010 under the name of the College of Computer Technology, then its name was changed to the College of Information Technology in 2012, as a result of the development of scientific curricula. It is one of the advanced colleges in the university in terms of infrastructure and laboratories. The college grants a bachelor's degree (computer science) according to the departments mentioned above. The college follows the course system. Postgraduate studies (Master - PhD) in the software department.

Google Club Organizes “Quest for O(1)” Workshop to Enhance Programming Efficiency and Optimize Software Solutions Duha Fadill Abbas As part of its continuous efforts to build a technology-driven environment that fosters innovation and systematic programming thinking, the Google Club organized a specialized knowledge-based workshop entitled “Quest for O(1).” The workshop aimed to reinforce core principles of program performance optimization and improve the efficiency of software solutions through a structured approach that combines theoretical foundations with simplified practical applications. This initiative reflects the club’s commitment to enhancing students’ technical competencies and strengthening their ability to analyze programming problems and design effective solutions aligned with the rapidly evolving landscape of software development and information technology. The workshop attracted students interested in programming and software development, focusing on key concepts related to performance optimization and algorithm efficiency analysis. It also introduced practical techniques that help developers build more efficient solutions while reducing computational complexity across various programming scenarios. Furthermore, the session emphasized the importance of structured programming thinking in designing technical solutions, supported by practical examples that enabled participants to better understand methods for optimizing code performance and improving overall software quality in accordance with modern technological standards. The workshop witnessed active participation and constructive engagement through discussions and hands-on activities, reflecting the club’s vision of supporting a strong technical learning environment and developing students’ analytical skills to create effective and efficient programming solutions.
