Continuing Education Unit Organizes Training Course on the Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Scientific Research and Innovation Duhaa Fadill Abbas As part of its sustained commitment to advancing research competencies and keeping pace with rapid technological developments, the Continuing Education Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Cybersecurity, organized a specialized training course entitled “Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Scientific Research and Innovation.” The course was attended by faculty members, researchers, and students interested in strengthening their academic and research capabilities. The training program was delivered by Lecturer Israa Saleh Kamil and Lecturer Safa Redha Jassim, who presented both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of artificial intelligence technologies in supporting scientific research processes. The sessions focused on the effective utilization of AI-driven tools in data analysis, academic writing, idea generation, literature review, and enhancing the overall efficiency and quality of scholarly work. The course aimed to equip participants with a systematic and ethically grounded understanding of how artificial intelligence can be integrated into research methodologies. It sought to enhance their ability to employ advanced digital tools responsibly in order to improve the rigor, originality, and impact of their scientific outputs while fostering a culture of innovation. The course addressed several key themes, including an overview of artificial intelligence concepts and leading academic AI tools, guidelines for responsible and ethical use, and practical demonstrations illustrating how AI applications can be incorporated at various stages of the research process—from topic selection and proposal development to data interpretation and results analysis. This training initiative forms part of a broader series of professional development programs organized by the College to support academic excellence and research innovation. It also reflects the Department of Cybersecurity’s proactive role in engaging with digital transformation trends and building institutional capacities capable of thriving in an increasingly technology-driven research environment.
