As part of the College of Information Technology at the University of Babylon’s commitment to supporting student initiatives aimed at developing technical competencies and strengthening communication between students and industry professionals, the Google Developers Student Club organized a distinguished online program titled Ramadan Bytes, bringing together technical knowledge and professional dialogue in an engaging and interactive environment.

The program featured a discussion session moderated by host Murtadha Ali and included a special guest, Engineer Ali Al-Janabi, Senior Software Engineer and a graduate of the Department of Software at the College of Information Technology. During the session, the guest shared key milestones from his professional journey in software development, highlighting the major challenges programmers encounter at the beginning of their careers, as well as the importance of continuous learning and acquiring practical experience in building a successful professional path within the field of information technology.

The session also addressed several key topics of particular relevance to students in technical disciplines. Emphasis was placed on the idea that academic degrees alone are not sufficient to achieve professional excellence. Rather, students are encouraged to actively pursue the development of practical and technical skills that strengthen their competitiveness in the labor market. The guest further noted that while university education provides the foundational pathway for students, the responsibility for advancing personal and professional capabilities ultimately lies in sustained self-learning and hands-on experience.

In addition, the discussion explored the most essential skills required in the contemporary job market, particularly problem-solving abilities, teamwork, effective communication, and the continuous development of technical expertise related to programming languages and modern tools widely used in the software industry.

The program witnessed notable engagement from participating students through questions and discussions that enriched the dialogue and opened broader perspectives on the future of technology-related careers. This initiative reflects the vital role of the Google Developers Student Club in supporting the community of student developers and promoting a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the College.
