It was established in 2009-2010 under the name of the College of Computer Technology, then its name was changed to the College of Information Technology in 2012, as a result of the development of scientific curricula. It is one of the advanced colleges in the university in terms of infrastructure and laboratories. The college grants a bachelor's degree (computer science) according to the departments mentioned above. The college follows the course system. Postgraduate studies (Master - PhD) in the software department.

Director of the Registration and Student Affairs Department at the University of Babylon Visits the College of Information Technology Duhaa Fadill Abbas The College of Information Technology at the University of Babylon received Dr. Aqeel Al-Anawi, Director of the Registration and Student Affairs Department at the university, during an official visit to the college. He was welcomed by the Dean of the College along with members of the College Council, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen coordination and cooperation among the university’s academic and administrative units. During the visit, a joint meeting was held to discuss several matters related to the organization and development of procedures within the Registration and Student Affairs system. The discussions focused on enhancing the efficiency of services provided to students and exploring mechanisms to improve administrative performance in alignment with the university’s strategic direction toward quality enhancement and streamlined administrative processes that support the educational mission. The visit also included an overview of the administrative workflow within the college, particularly those related to student affairs and registration procedures. In addition, both sides exchanged perspectives and proposals aimed at strengthening institutional integration among the university’s departments and colleges, thereby contributing to the development of the academic environment and supporting students throughout their educational journey. This visit reflects the University of Babylon’s continuous commitment to fostering effective communication between its central administrative departments and academic colleges, while promoting collaborative initiatives that enhance both academic and administrative performance and improve the quality of services offered to students.
