It was established in 2009-2010 under the name of the College of Computer Technology, then its name was changed to the College of Information Technology in 2012, as a result of the development of scientific curricula. It is one of the advanced colleges in the university in terms of infrastructure and laboratories. The college grants a bachelor's degree (computer science) according to the departments mentioned above. The college follows the course system. Postgraduate studies (Master - PhD) in the software department.

Nabu Code Team at the College of Information Technology Launches the College’s Digital Platform to Support Technological Transformation and Academic Services Duhaa Fadill Abbas Within the strategic orientation of the Nabu Code Team in the Software Department at the College of Information Technology toward developing software solutions that support the educational process and enhance the technological environment within the college, the team organized a special event to officially launch the Digital Platform of the College of Information Technology. This initiative comes as part of ongoing efforts to advance digital transformation and provide modern electronic services that facilitate access to academic information and institutional resources. The event included a comprehensive presentation highlighting the key features and services offered by the platform. Attendees were introduced to its operational mechanisms and the digital tools it provides for both students and faculty members, which are designed to streamline access to academic data and services, improve communication efficiency, and contribute to the organization of academic and administrative activities within the college in line with the evolving requirements of digital education. The event was attended by Dr. Aqeel Al-Anawi, Director of the Registration and Student Affairs Department at the University of Babylon, in addition to a number of faculty members, students, and individuals interested in technological innovation. Participants were given an overview of the platform’s capabilities and its anticipated role in supporting the educational process while strengthening the digital infrastructure of the college. During the event, the Dean of the College of Information Technology emphasized the importance of encouraging students to actively engage with the platform and benefit from its services. He also announced that monthly awards will be granted to top-performing students who demonstrate the highest levels of engagement and effective use of the platform, with the aim of fostering innovation, encouraging healthy academic competition, and promoting active participation within the college’s digital ecosystem. The launch of this platform represents an important step in the College of Information Technology’s broader commitment to adopting innovative digital initiatives that enhance institutional performance and provide a modern educational environment capable of keeping pace with the rapidly evolving technological landscape, ultimately benefiting both students and faculty members.
