PhD Student Nidaa Kareem Shulla Presents a Detailed Seminar at the Department of Software – College of Information Technology, University of Babylon Duhaa Fadill Abbas As part of the ongoing scientific activities organized by the Department of Software at the College of Information Technology, University of Babylon, and in line with its commitment to supporting postgraduate students and advancing their research in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, PhD student Nidaa Kareem Shulla delivered a detailed seminar on her dissertation entitled:“Classification and Reconstruction of GIS Image Components based on Geometric Feature and Deep Learning,”under the supervision of Professor Dr. Tawfiq Abdulkhaliq Abbas, in the presence of the scientific committee and a number of specialized faculty members. During the seminar, the student presented a comprehensive overview of her research objectives, focusing on the application of deep learning techniques for the analysis and classification of Geographic Information System (GIS) image components through the integration of visual data and geometric reasoning, enabling more accurate and flexible models compared to conventional approaches. She also outlined the adopted methodology, which incorporates advanced models for object detection and feature extraction, alongside the integration of geometric concepts into an adaptive neural network architecture capable of representing spatial relationships more effectively. In addition, the study employs classification mechanisms based on geometric attributes and spatial scale of objects. This seminar reflects the Department of Software’s ongoing efforts to promote rigorous scientific research and to empower postgraduate students in developing innovative solutions aligned with the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence and computer vision.
