Women Affairs Unit at the College of Information Technology Shines at the Babylonian Women Festival with Creative Projects Integrating Technology and Arts

In conjunction with the launch of the University of Babylon’s Cultural Week and within the activities of the first edition of the Babylonian Women Festival under the patronage of the University Presidency, the Women Affairs Unit at the College of Information Technology, in collaboration with the scientific departments, presented a distinguished and high-impact participation that reflected a clear vision and an ambitious strategic direction adopted by the Unit in empowering women and strengthening their academic and creative presence.

This participation embodied an advanced model of the College’s role in supporting female talents and fostering an enabling environment that integrates scientific knowledge with artistic expression, while opening broad avenues for students to showcase their capabilities and transform their ideas into tangible and impactful achievements. It further demonstrated the Unit’s commitment to reinforcing the role of women as active contributors to sustainable development and to building a knowledge-based, innovation-driven society aligned with contemporary global trends and the Sustainable Development Goals.

This participation reaffirmed the pivotal role played by the College in enhancing women’s engagement within the academic environment by providing integrated platforms that nurture creativity, support female-led initiatives, and translate ideas into practical outcomes that serve the community and align with sustainable development objectives.

The College’s pavilion featured an exceptional collection of student projects that extended beyond purely technical dimensions to present a comprehensive spectrum of creativity. The exhibits included innovative technological projects demonstrating advanced digital competencies alongside artistic, formal, and free-style works that reflected aesthetic sensibility, cultural identity, and the students’ ability to express themselves through diverse forms that harmonize modernity with authenticity.

These projects demonstrated a high level of excellence and integration, successfully combining technological solutions with creative vision, thereby reflecting a deep awareness of the role of women in driving change and contributing to the development of a progressive knowledge society grounded in innovation.

The Women Affairs Unit emphasized that this participation is part of a strategic approach aimed at empowering female students, refining their skills, and enhancing their presence across scientific and creative domains.
