As part of the prevention pillar, the College of Information Technology organized an awareness seminar titled “Women as Peacebuilders: From Resolution 1325 to Practice” on April 22, 2026. The seminar was supervised and delivered by legal expert Dr. Khawla Kazem Al-Maamouri.
The seminar addressed the core principles of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325, which represents a key international framework for enhancing the role of women in peace and security. It highlighted mechanisms for activating the resolution and translating its theoretical provisions into practical applications within society.
The session also emphasized the importance of empowering women in decision-making positions and strengthening their preventive role in mitigating conflicts and building more stable communities. This is achieved through promoting a culture of peace, tolerance, and active female participation across various sectors.
This initiative aligns with the College’s efforts to support awareness programs that reinforce the concepts of societal prevention and promote the role of women as essential partners in peacebuilding and sustainable development.
