College of Information Technology Organizes a Seminar on Building Mutual Trust Between Citizens and State Institutions to Support Stability and Development Duhaa Fadill Abbas As part of its ongoing efforts to promote societal stability and enhance awareness of the role of institutions in building a modern state, the College of Information Technology organized a scientific seminar titled “Building Mutual Trust Between Citizens and State Institutions.” The seminar was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Hassan Hadi Hassan from the Department of Cybersecurity and addressed the significance of this relationship as a fundamental pillar for achieving national security and sustainable development. The seminar highlighted the nature of the relationship between citizens and state institutions, emphasizing that it extends beyond a purely legal framework to encompass mutual understanding and respect. Citizens expect the state to provide security, services, and justice, while the state relies on citizens’ compliance with laws and their active participation in societal development. Furthermore, the seminar underscored that the importance of strengthening this trust becomes even more critical in societies striving to promote good governance and combat corruption. The absence of trust leads to weakened national belonging and reduced cooperation, which negatively impacts stability and development. It was emphasized that building such trust requires a comprehensive approach that includes enhancing transparency, ensuring accountability, improving institutional performance, and fostering citizen engagement in decision-making processes. The seminar concluded by affirming that strengthening mutual trust between citizens and state institutions represents a strategic objective essential for supporting national security and achieving sustainable development, while also enhancing the state’s capacity to address challenges and build a more stable and prosperous future.
