In alignment with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Independent High Electoral Commission, the Software Department at the College of Information Technology has launched an awareness campaign highlighting the importance of updating voter cards. This initiative stems from the department’s belief in the pivotal role academic institutions play in fostering electoral awareness and encouraging active participation in the democratic process.
As part of the campaign, a dedicated awareness poster was designed under the supervision of:
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Sura Zaki Al-Rasheed – Head of the Software Department
- Eng. Assistant Intidhar Fadel
- Eng. Assistant Sinan Ali Mahdi
In addition, direct awareness efforts were conducted among students and staff within the college. These efforts, led by Programmer Assistant Yasser Saad Joudi, included informative sessions on the significance of updating the voter card as a fundamental right that ensures electoral participation and contributes to shaping the country’s future. The sessions also outlined the update procedures and mechanisms in detail.
The campaign further featured an explanatory video and a series of workshops aimed at encouraging broader engagement from both students and staff members.
This initiative is part of the department’s broader community outreach activities, reflecting its commitment to national engagement and the promotion of civic responsibility.
