Pre-Writing Seminar for Ph.D. Candidate Raed Abdulreda Sheikhan – Department of Software

As part of the academic activities of the Department of Software at the College of Information Technology, University of Babylon, Ph.D. candidate Raed Abdulreda Sheikhan delivered his pre-writing seminar for the dissertation entitled "Deep Surface Image Generation Using Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs)", under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Tawfiq Abdulkhaleq Abbas, and in the presence of the scientific committee, faculty members, and postgraduate students.

The proposed dissertation introduces an intelligent system designed to generate synthetic surface images that closely mimic satellite imagery, utilizing deep learning techniques and geometric representation. The system architecture involves transforming raster satellite images into structured mesh representations, training a modified GAN model to produce structurally consistent synthetic surfaces, and reconstructing their visual appearance with high resolution.

The research aims to support applications related to information warfare and image forgery detection, by generating a synthetic dataset that can be used to train classification models capable of distinguishing between authentic and fabricated satellite images.
